Home Network Coverage

We’re going to stay with our same network topic that we started with our last video, and talk about network coverage within your own home. It’s pretty common to have multiple wireless access points throughout your house, just because they’re pretty easily interrupted by walls, floors, and other building materials. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t still experience a loss of coverage from one side of the room to the next.

This could be exactly what you’re thinking, that there’s a gap in coverage between access points, but did you know it could also mean there’s an overlap? Essentially each of the two access points are fighting for control over the same device.

What DMI does to solve this problem is not only measure the exact coverage areas of all of the access points, but calibrate them together so that your device knows exactly which access point to connect to as you travel throughout your house.
